MELVILLE, New York — Air Techniques, Inc., a leading innovator and manufacturer of dental equipment, announced its sponsorship of the First Annual Northern Illinois Oral Cancer Awareness Walk which takes place on June 10. The purpose of this Walk is to bring awareness to this disease that will affect approximately 40,000 Americans this year.

Join the Northern Illinois community at Lake Arlington on June 10 from 8:00 a.m. through 1:00 pm., as they raise awareness for this disease that claims the life of one American every hour. Free oral screenings will be offered at the Walk along with information on early detection and prevention.

Air Techniques’ Polaris® Intraoral Camera can assist in early detection by examining the oral cavity for unusual or suspicious sores, lumps, or ulcers in the mouth. Polaris has exceptional image quality and was recently named the Top Intraoral Camera of 2012 by The Dental Advisor.

Register for the walk online now through June 9, or on the day of the event from 8:00 a.m. through 9:00 a.m. The donation is $25 for adults, $10 for kids aged 6-10, and any child under 6 is free. A silent auction will take place during the event with an array of items such as a pair of round-trip Southwest airline tickets and an autographed photo of Sox player Chris Sale. All proceeds will be donated to the Oral Cancer Foundation, a non-profit charity that provides information, patient support, sponsorship of research, and advocacy related to this disease.
